Vehicle & spacecraft size comparisons
From a city bus to a transatlantic liner, discover how far vehicles really stretch.
Finding a little perspective…
Inside The departure lounge
Compare documented vehicle models along their named length or full launch height.
Move from local transport to spaceflight
A city bus, helicopter and locomotive lead into an airliner, ocean liner, shuttle and rocket. Think about the complete named vehicle, not its passenger cabin or the amount of cargo it carries. Each reference describes a particular model or craft rather than an average for its category.
Know what the measurement includes
The Airbus uses fuselage length, the Titanic uses overall hull length, and the locomotive excludes wagons. The shuttle is the orbiter alone; Saturn V uses the complete launch vehicle’s height. The helicopter’s overall length includes its specified rotor extent, so it is not just the cabin.
Learn the references, then try again
Every reveal explains the measurement and links to its source. These five pairs keep the same order when you replay, with a separate best score for this collection saved in your browser.
