WHY THESE FIVE?

Inside Birds in perspective

Contrast different bird body plans while keeping reference conventions explicit.

Separate posture from size

A flamingo, penguin, parrot and water birds show why bird silhouettes can be deceptive. An upright posture, long legs or a long tail can dominate what you see. This collection also uses a tree monitor as an unexpected reference for a bird, so not every round pairs two birds.

Read height, length and wingspan correctly

Flamingo and penguin references use height. The other bird references use published lengths, not open wingspans; the macaw’s long tail is part of its stated length. Estimate along the named dimension rather than imagining how much space the bird would cover with its wings spread.

Learn the references, then try again

Every reveal explains the measurement and links to its source. These five pairs keep the same order when you replay, with a separate best score for this collection saved in your browser.
